Shree Rama exhibited his extraordinary qualities from his childhood .He had his early education from vashistha .Dashratha became fond of him and never allowed him to be out of his sight .But fate is the master we are its Instruments ,it came in the person of sage vishwamitra !.
Vishwamitra was born as kshatriya king and became a great warrior .He visited once the ashram of vashistha muni as his guest and he saw the divine cow nandini there ,(some say it was kamadhenu, name of the cow may vary) ,because of his kshatriya buddhi he wanted that divine cow in his palace so he tried to take it forcibly but vashistha was not like rishi jamadagni (parshurama's father) .He resisted that greedy king .vishwamitra used all his resources ,military ,weapons etc all failed before the spiritual powers of Rishi vashistha .
unlike kartaveeryarjuna ,he realized that physical strength is inferior to spiritual strength which accrues only by virtuous contol over the mind .He saw with his eyes that most powerful bramhastra itself disappeared inside the ordinary staff of rishi vashistha .He left his kshatriya characterstics and left the palace and did penance of bramha after a severe sadhana he became a bramharishi ,person who is below the mind we call him "buddhu" person who is like you whos actions governs the mind is called as " buddhi" and person who is above the mind is called as buddha .vishwamitra conquered his mind and took control over his five senses and dissolved his six basic degrading factors which remains inside each and every human being .Step by step he realized himself and became enlightened and he became a humble man vashista rishi blessed him and declared him as vishwamitra or the true friend of the world .
vishwamitra came to Dashratha's court one day .He had plaanned to do yagnas and wants protection from asuras since he has ceazed to be a kshatriya .He rejected dashratha's suggestion of taking a army but preffered to take shri Rama because he had some tasks which had to be only performed by shri Rama .Dashratha had to agree as vashistha has adviced him to send Rama to vishwamitra ,Rama and lakshmana were both more close to each other from childhood so lakshmana accompanied shri Rama .
So Rama and lakshmana both accompanied the sage .Sage vishwamitra knew about the background of birth of shri Rama and Lakshmana hence took both of them to ashram . on the way he went on advicing them about matters related to administration and teaching warfare .
so
story of sage vishwamitra clearly suggest that the worldly things or what we call as money ,power ,your intellect can only help you to earn a living ,you can look cool among your friends and relatives ..you can rule other people but you dont know what you actually are..
your body is taken from your parents and your knowledge is picked up from the people around you ...this has made your outside you ...
what we call as you is something diffrent ....
so vishwamitra went to realize himself and when he realized himself he became vishwaamitra or the friend of the entire universe..
WE ALL ARE HERE TO REALIZE OURSELVES OR WHAT WE CALL AS TRUE NATURE OF BRAHMAN"
thats why we meditate to know what i am and who i am??
then shri Rama comes to us ...
so the moral is if shri Rama has to come to you ,you must be a vishwamitra first ..
its not that detaching yourselves from works and responsiblity around you ...you just sit and meditate daily for atleast 30 minutes a day or chant Rama nama or namah shivaaya mantra every day with eyes closed ...
so when you close your eyes you are no more you ,you want to realize yourself by this you will create the path of moksha
